On the way home from Harrogate yesterday I was listening to Youtube videos about how to keep on top of clutter and organise your home etc (you can never be too organised lol). One of the tops I heard was about grouping items in the same family together and zoning them into a specific space. If it is things you have a lot of then you are not allowed to buy more of if they won't fit into the designated space. One of the things I am terrible for having all over the house is skincare products. I am one of those people who always buy and try new skincare but then I am not consistent. If I don't look 10 years younger in 10 days I give up and stick it in a cupboard somewhere. So I gathered all my skincare stuff together and separated them all by type and then organised them into clear containers and EVEN labeled them up. I know people might think "why do you need to label stuff when only you live there?". BUT apparently nero science says that labeling things up gives your brain less to think about and makes it easier to stay organised as everything clearly has a home. When things don't have a place to live they end up getting dumped anywhere and then are difficult to find.
Sad as it may seem the sense of calm this gave me and started my day off in a good way and all before 7am :-) I enjoyed it that much I even carried on into the office and sorted a couple of the drawers in my desk. I grouped all the "sticky stuff" together in one drawer and the rest in another drawer.
My label printer is propbably one of my favourite purchases as I have used it so much. I label plugs, cables, power leads etc so that I know what I am unplugging in a 4 way extention or what plugs are for. As soon as I purchase something with a plug or cable I label it up so that I don't end up with tons of wires and plugs and have no idea what they are for.
If you want to make a start getting organised I would defo recomend buying one of these. Here is a link to one that is the Amazon Choice product and it's currently £29.99
Once I had done all this before the morning had even begun properly it spurred me on to get more stuff sorted, so I cracked on with expenses, appointment phone calls etc.
I couldn't wait to go and pick up Bella from mums. I always really miss her when I haven't seen her for a couple of days bless her.
Nothing much to report for today.
