"Check-in Tuesday" is something we started in The Virtual Tavern over a year ago to encourage people to check in with loved ones or people they haven't spoken to in a while. Jane from the team does a post every Tuesday without fail just as a reminder for people. Funnily enough, whether she consciously knew or not Viv rang me to check in and see how I was doing. I don't speak to her regularly but whenever I do speak to her she always manages to make me howl laughing. When I was talking to her she mentioned that she lives on her own, which I wasn't aware of. In the past, she has always house-shared with someone, so I just assumed she still did. Now I know this I will check in with her more regularly as I know how it can feel lonely when you constantly come home to an empty house. I would love Check-in Tuesday to just become a 'thing' and that people just automatically started to make a conscious effort every week just to check in on someone. You would be surprised how much of a difference it can make to some just to know they have a friend asking how they are doing etc.
Had the soup Elena brought round for my lunch with some croutons. I'm a big soup fan and love making soups and have to say it was very tasty. I need to get a big shop done soon so I can start making more soups and pass a few portions on to people. I love making nice hearty soups and I've got loads of pulses and beans to add to my next lot to make them full of protein and fibre. Nothing says it's winter like a hot bowl of homemade soup ;-)
Took Bella out while it was dry but it's still freezing and her fur is a lot shorted after her groom so I dug out her outdoor coat to try and keep her a bit warmer and also stop her getting so wet and muddy.
Sorted through another few boxed of stuff from my store room whilst watching telly so that I am being productive at the same time. It's getting more and more organised so New Year it should all be ship shape. I'm going to do a Spring Sale in the New Year to raise more money for another good cause and try to reduce the amount of stuff in the room.

Over the next few months (it will probably take me that long) I am going to try muy best to get the rest of my Around the World Trip Blog uploaded. That way it's all up to date and I only need to worry about the daily one. In March next year I will have been doing my daily blog for a whole year. If you fancy following my Trip day one starts HERE
