Busy Bee

Yesterday I managed to take all the donations to Lifeshare which really helped kick-start my week as I have been meaning to get down there for ages. So, today I thought I would carry on getting stuff done off my ever-growing To Do list. It's my admin day today as I have a supplier meeting slap bang in the middle of the day so wouldn't have time to get to an appointment and back in time.

Bella won a year's supply of Pure Pet Food and gets a bag of it every month. It's really good quality food and I was so pleased when she won it as I thought it would save me a fortune. I have been trying the different flavours but she just won't eat it. So instead of saving me a fortune like I'd hoped it has ended up costing me money because I am buying her regular food to mix with it but then she leaves it so I am throwing it away so end up using more food than normal which defeats the object. So I managed to find a number for Pennine Pen Animal Rescue in Oldham and checked if they accept food donations. The number I rang was one of the charity centres but they had a rescue centre near me in Oldham. I also advised them I had some unopened medication that was for Bonnies Heart condition which they said they would gladly take for the Rescue centre. Hopefully, it will be able to help an animal owner who doesn't have the funds for the medication.

Rather than put it off for another day, I thought I would get it sorted while it was on my mind so I drove to the centre. They were just about to close the gates but I explained I had food donations so they let me in. They explained they were just on their way out to a vet's appointment so I just emptied my boot and left them all the food and meds. I didn't even think about the fact that they would have to go out to vet visits etc. I probably should have rung ahead in hindsight.

If you are an animal lover and every end up with spare food that one of your pets won't eat, please bare them in mind as they run on donations so it all helps. You can also donate via their website.

Next, I took the internal door to Kirsty as it's been in my shed (which is officially The Tavern lol) in the way for months. I already had the car empty and seats flat from yesterday's trip to Lifeshare so thought today was the perfect day to sort it as the stars had also aligned and Kirsty was at her house. I also dropped off a large bag of dog food that had been given to me by my friend Jo-Anne but sadly Bella won't touch it. Zoe who lives with Kirsty has a big Staffy and she already eats dry food so I gave it her as I know it will help her out money-wise not having to buy food for a while as it is a BIG dog.

Also went to the job center with Kirsty to sort out some paperwork she has been waiting for to get her file updated. Dropped her at mine while I went to my supplier meeting and she said she would help me get the front garden sorted by painting the planters that are long overdue for a whitewash. I forgot to get a before picture but they started off all grubby and faded like the small walls that haven't been done yet (Left) and ended up nice and bright (middle). It already makes the garden look neater and ready for summer. The next job will be to hack those big plants down in the front that have taken over(Right) It's a shame because someone with a large garden would probably love them and they would cost a fortune to buy that size. If a gardener wanted to take them they could with pleasure.

Next stop was Ziggle Head Office for a meeting with a lovely lady called Jenna who is going to be helping Ziggle take their business forward with brand and marketing etc. She wanted to chat with me about how Ziggle is at the moment and any frustrations etc. It's reassuring that they are investing the time and money in an external company to take things forward. I was a really productive meeting and I am looking forward to seeing the next steps. One of the key things I wanted to focus on was making the products into "collections" rather than looking at random stuff thrown together. This helps buyers see a story or concept and how that will look in store.

Next stop was to pick Kirsty up and for us both to go and Give Blood. There was a bit of a wait when we got there because the guy didn't check us in properly. Kirsty eventually went and spoke to someone. I should have taken the opportunity to do it as that is one of the things I always make someone else do. Complaining is really not my thing :-/ Eventually, we got seen to and sadly Kirsty couldn't donate as her iron levels were just under the threshold. So it fell on me to save the world lol.

By the time we finished, the sun was starting to go down and by the time I had dropped off Kirsty I didn't have the energy to even think about cooking when I got in, so I bought myself a cheeky KFC on the way home :-/
