Blame it on the weatherman?

Yoga Day 9 - Feelin Fine (those are Adrienne's words not mine). Had a really nice night's sleep last night. Think it was a combination of doing the mediation yoga last night just before bed and the fact I had the bed to myself. I love muy dogs but I also like a bit of a break now and then where I only have to think about myself and getting myself up and ready and not have them running around behind me waiting for a) attention b) food c) a walk or d) the toilet. It's like having two toddlers but permanently as they never grow up and start to fend for themselves or start to tell you what they want, you just have to guess all the time. So when I hear parents moaning about children, I do think "but all this is temporary they don't stay a toddler, DOGS DO" :-)

Today's Yoga was quite a bit harder as there were a lot of lunge-type poses and balance, which I'm definitely not good at but I would say getting slightly better from day 1 lol.

I think we had all 4 seasons in one day today! Before I set off to my appointment it was quite sunny and fresh but I had to de-ice the car, then when I arrived in Clitheroe I nad to take off my coat as it was too warm, on the way home it was lashing down with rain, by late afternoon it was actually hail stoning and snowing. What???

Today could have felt quite disastrous under normal circumstances but for some reason, I just felt able to cope and in my head was just thinking "it will sort itself out". Now that I am back in full swing with work and have my mojo back, I am having to put in more effort for work and less time to the virtual tavern. Part of me hates this as I don't like doing anything half-hearted but I know that my work needs to come first as it pays the bills ad I need to get back in front of my money situation.

Mid-Day status:-

  • Welcome Drinks - I haven't been able to get hold of the Whitley Neill Rep for South Wales so I am panicking that we don't have the welcome drinks sponsored at the moment. I chased up Gill who is the rep for Liverpool as we have dealt with her for the other events so far, to see if she has a contact number as she's been really helpful. But no answer.

  • DJ - Followed up with Aiden the DJ to make sure he is all good for next week, only to be told her has to work now so can't make it - currently NO DJ for the event. If I had my equipment I would have just jumped in and done it myself as at least I know what I want from the night etc,

  • Raffle Prizes - haven't had a chance to catch up with Amanda, who has been looking at getting raffle prizes for us, so I need to follow up as we may have nothing to sell raffle tickets for yet :-/

  • Car Situ- If I can sort out DJ stuff from somewhere I currently have 4 people in my car so will struggle to fit it all in.

All the above would normally send me under but for some reason, I have an underlying sense of calm as I know one way or another it will be sorted.

My appointment went well as I managed to open a Giftwrap account at a garden center that's been on my wish list forever. I tried a different approach and used something Emma taught me with Forever Living. I asked if she would be OPEN to looking at some new Eco Giftwrap that's doing really well at the moment. I also didn't tell the buyer the company name as sometimes it's an automatic shutdown as in their heads they think "Yeah I don't like that company" for whatever reason. So when she said yes she would be open to looking I got all the samples out and before I knew it she was putting together a YES pile. The next objection was that she didn't know how much space they would have yet for Giftwrap. So again I just said, "well let's just put it together as a quote so you have all the images, and then when you know your space we can review it". Came away feeling a sense of achievement as I know this range will do well in their garden center as it does already in others.

On the journey back the sun was shining and it felt like a crisp spring day.

Straight after work I went over to Crompton & Royton golf club to help Andy set up for our Grand National event tomorrow afternoon (and into the night). I hopw the weather stays nice as it always puts everyone in a better mood and it will end up being a really good day then.

PIcked up mums fancy dress outfit for the Tavern on Tour event next week. It's 70's and disco theme so hopefully lots will make an effort and dress up.

Followed up on some of the tavern issues and also let the team know where we were up to. I usually try to sort everything myself but as soon as I told them they were all coming up with ways round everything. They are all so commited to the Tavern it's amazing. Bridgette from Canada even sent over a £40 dontation buy a raffle prize with bless her.

So before I went to be things didn't seem so bad.

Evening Status:-

  • Welcome Drinks - Tom from the lowerhouse gave me the Manchester Reps number in case she had the Welsh Reps number, will try her Monday. Worse case scenario we will buy some Whitley Neill bottles out of the tavern fund and use that for welcome drinks.

  • DJ - Ansy has said whatever happends he will make sure I have some DJ gear for next week. Hopefully he will come with me and we can work it betweeen us.

  • Raffle Prizes - Spoke to Amanda and she has sorted some prizes out in the background and jiust hasdn't had time to update me (phew). She also has acontact at Tesco that might be able to help with some bottles.

  • Car Situ- Amanda has said she is willing to drive to South Wales at some point and maybe take my mum and Gillian with her so that I can room in my car for the DJ stuff.

Whatever happens it will all be sorted one way or another. I just love how The Tavern has continued to grow and be a place of support for so many people. I love our tavern family, everyone just gets what we are about and the idiots are few and far between and also stick out like a sore thumb. The teamn are just the best and I prpbably don't tell them oftern enough. There are not many people that would stick with a project like this and put in the hours they do for nothing. Sometimes getting grief when they have to declined stuff etc. Everyone in the team brings something to the table that just makes it work.

6 days to do till teh TOT4 in Newport :-) If you fancy coming along, grab a ticket here:-
