Bank HoliYAY Monday

A bank holiday always feels like having an extra Sunday in the week so you feel you have permission to chill and do pretty much nothing all day.

It was so nice waking up at Alexa and Fi's with no pressure to do anything or get up at a set time etc. Linda and Debs got off to head to the airport at about 8:30 so we waved them off and all got back in bed lol. Alexa got up a bit later and made us all a coffee, fresh orange, and a cinnamon and spice bagel thin with peanut butter on. She is such a great host and always makes you feel like you don't need to do anything to help, although I always offer. I can't remember the last time I had breakfast in bed, no in fact that's a lie it was probably when Kirsty last stayed at mine as she's good like that. I do miss the time when me, Lex and Fi lived together for a while cos it just worked and we were such a good fit.

We got up at about 10:30 and Lex suggested me and Fi have a wee play on the PS4 while she had a nap with Rosie. We didn't need asking twice lol.

Spoke to mum and she still wasn't well so despite having been offered to stay over again I thought it best to head back home. She wanted something for her cough and I would of felt bad leaving Bella with her for another night when she didn't feel well. I called at Morrisons and got her some Fisherman's friends and a trifle, which I think was more the priority when I spoke to her than anything for her throat.

I literally nipped in and dropped off her stuff, picked Bella up and then came straight home cos I wanted to get home and make a start on blitzing the house. I am probably going to wait until Saturday to take my Christmas tree and Decs down. I don't really go with the traditional dates as I put my tree up at the beginning of November so worrying about when to take them down isn't really an issue. I've been managing to upload a few days from my Around the World Trip blog while I have been off work. I can't wait until it's all done so I can just focus on the daily blog and not have two lots on the go.

I don't think anybody actually reads my blog but that's not really the point of it. I do it as a kind of journal as a way of remembering experiences years from now. When I'm a lot older and my memory is fading I will be able to go through my blog posts and recall the things I did when I was in my 50's and before (with my childhood memory posts). It's also a kind of therapy even though I don't always write exactly what I was thinking at the time as I still try to self-sensor or I would end up offending too many people lol.

I don't make New Year resolutions or anything as I'm a firm believer that as and when you want to make changes in your life you should just do it. Not wait until a New Year, New Week or whevever. You can make every day a new start if you choose to. I don't believe in all this "New Year, New Me" rubbish. If you don't have the commitment or will power to make changes on a regular day why will trying to do it at the start of a new year be any different?
