Bali Trip - Day 9

Just by accident, we woke up in time to see the last of the sunrise it was just shining through the gardens and coming up over the sea. I never tire of the colours in the sky.

We didn't think we would have time for breakfast as we were being picked up at 6:45am and they don't start until 7am. Luckily for us though they made us an extra early plate of fruit and some pancakes just what we needed to start the day. We packed up our bags so we could take everything to the dive centre with us and just go back to the boat from there. Just had time to take a few pics of our lovely gardens.

Our taxi took us to DPM Dive centre bang on time at 7:30am where we had coffee and a muffin for breakfast as well as some fresh fruit. The dive centre was lovely and had a mediterranean/; vibe to it.

We had a quick briefing of where we would be going and then it was time to suit up. Luckily this time I asked for a larger wetsuit so I could breathe a bit better. The first dive we did it was really tight and I could hardly breathe which made me more uncomfortable.

We did our first dive at Manta point. This was my first dive entering the water backwards off the side of the boat and I was a bit nervous but once I'd done it I was fine for the next dive. As soon as we entered the water I saw a sea turtle right above me and was so made up as I'd wanted to see one at some point. Later we saw about 6 huge manta rays. they just seem to glide through the air effortlessly. some had a span of about 6 metres. It's sods law thought I didn't take my underwater case on the first dive to capture them, but I think of the other guys has some footage so I will add that later. These two pics on arent mine its just to show you what I saw.

The second dive was a Crystal Bay and even though the visibility was better there wasn't any big fish but we did see a banded sea snake which was really close to us. We only found our back at base that it's one of the most poisonous snakes :-/

I definitely think diving is something that gets easier with practice as there are so many variables to take into consideration and the more dives you do, the better you get at controlling your buoyancy and know what weights you need for your belt etc.

After our dives it was time for lunch at our favourite place that we found. we both went for grilled mahi mahi and a juice each.

After lunch, we both jumped on the back of bike to take us to the boat, which was about 3 mins away.

Once we got back to Bali it was a 4-hour trip back to base camp. We had to go to Ubud first to pick up two other girls from camp to make it cheaper for everyone. The total journey cost 700,000 dib dabs between 4 of us so 175,000 each which is about £10.50 each. I doubt we could get a cab in Manchester to drive 4 hours for £40 lol.
