Our receptionist/cleaner knocked on at 7;30 with our breakfasts. I went for scrambled eggs on toast with a Bali Coffee (they never seem to have milk in any coffees here). Layla had 2 boiled eggs with toast and a water.
Straight after breakfast, we got ready and then organised for one of the guys downstairs to take us to a dive centre. All the people here moonlight as a taxi driver if you ever need to go anywhere lol. We got to DPM Diving but they were already full for today and this mornings dives had left already. We managed to book 2 dives tomorrow so it kind of makes up for not doing one today. It also meant we could just have a chilled day today by the pool today and just do double the dives than we planned tomorrow. We are going to Manata Point and also Crystal Bay. Let's hope with a name like Crystal Bay it means that the water is really clear.
We grabbed some food at Baba cottage which had been recommended by the Spanish guy at the dive centre. It was defo a good shout as the food was just what we wanted. A nice poke bowl with fresh seared tuna and a soy dressing. And then I had peanut butter and banana smoothy to satisfy my sweet tooth. "Two Plates Purdy" had the poke bowl, bruschetta starter and a papaya and turmeric smoothy. The first one they brought had milk in, which should have been listed on the menu really as all the others mentioned almond milk etc. So Layla got them to swap it, and they were very apologetic, not like at home.
After lunch we got our hotel guy (Augus) to come and pick us up and take us back to the hotel. It was so hot while we were waiting for our taxi we stopped into a lovely bar called Elkane which had a Mexican feel to it, for a drink. I had watermelon juice and Layla had a lime juice, and we had two big bottles of water to take back to the room.
I still cant get over how every house or shop etc has its own really ornate temple outside. They all look so nice and every day an offering is placed in front of the temple.
When we got back, I had a chill by the pool and swap 20 lengths while Layla looked for shells and interesting stones to add to her collection. I think she is either going to have to pay for excess baggage by the time she flies home or be arrested for smuggling half of Bali beach home with her lol.
The clouds came over and it looked like it was going to thunderstorm so we headed back to the room. I was goosed so had a sleep and then when it was time to go for food I told Layla I was just going to have the pot noodle I'd brought with me from Bali, then get an early night. I don't know where she gets her energy from, she never stops, I can't keep up lol. Layla went to get her nails done and some food. I hope they do a better job than the girl at the massage place in Ubud cos she nearly got swung around by her Ponytail judging by Layla's face cos she was not impressed lol.
