Bali Trip - Day 12

This morning we had 84 structures to load onto the boat and then deploy into the water. It's heavy going and didn't do my back any favours that's for sure. There was also a lot fewer of us to do the work today as some volunteers have left.

After we did the morning graft me and Layla went to do a bit of snorkeling so we could put our little plaque into the water near the coral.

Layla is pretty good already at freediving so she moved the plaque (it's pretty heavy as made of concrete) and I filmed and took photos (I know my role strengths lol).

I did manage to get some quite good pics though and Lyal took some of me afterward. The case I bought for my phone has turned out to be a pretty good investment and comes in handy now I'm not worried about it leaking lol. I think I will still invest in a GoPro or looky likey version though when I get home.

Here's the video of Layla doing the hard graft while I was just filming and taking pics lol...

In the afternoon we made more structures so I paired up with Josh cos I know he's a perfectionist so I could take it easy and. leave him to the design part. He's been doing a lot of superhero logos so today we did the spiderman one. Obviously, I supervised the whole process lol. I think me and Robin would have been a good pairing as we are both very slapdash and focus on just banging them out than the finer details lol.

I think I left Josh to it once it got to the design part had he is so OCD for getting it just right. I would have banged this out in aboutr 20 mins lol. think he spent the full 2 hours on this :-/

After dinner a few of the guys went into Amed but me n Layla had an early night. We didn't want to spoil tomorrow doing the dive as that the best part of the week. Plus its a big beach clean with about 200 children and people from the village as tomorrow is Love the sea day. The whole of Bali cleans up the beaches and collects rubbish and recycling. October is officially Bulan Cinta Lout which means the month of loving the ocean.

It's so good to be here for this as its all relevant to the work we are doing to repair the coral reef and resatore the eco system.
