Got up at 5am to go out with Odi the fisherman to see if we could manage to spot any dolphins. Sadly we didn't see any but we did get pics of a beautiful red sunrise so it was worth getting up early.
It's so peaceful out n the water at that time in the morning. It was pitch black when we went down to the beach but then slowly the sky went through a whole rainbow of colours from purple to red and then a golden yellow and orange. It's beautiful to see and the camera really doesn't do it justice.
During our trip Odi was pulling his line in with small fish on the little hooks. Then later he baited his bigger line with the small fish and caught two decent sixe Mahi Mahi. When we got back to shore he gave them both to us for Yanti to cook for us.
Also took some cheesy pics of myself on the boat lol. Cringe.
Today was moving structures day so we had to dig holes again around the structures we built last week that had dried and then use a block of wood near the hole as leverage a piece of thick bamboo was then put into the hole under one side of the structures and levered out of the ground. We then had to clean the excess sand from underneath. Once cleaned up it was bamboo carrying time again, so two volunteers would carry a structure using a thick piece of rope looped around the legs and a person at each end to lift it. They were all then left on the beach for the fishermen to clean out the excess sand with a hosepipe. Tomorrow we will load them all onto the fishing boats again and drop them in the vicinity of the existing structures we've already deployed last week.
For dinner, Yanti made lovely mashed potatoes, veg, chicken and the Mahi Mahi we caught (well we didn't catch it but played a part I guess lol). The fish was lovely and went down well with the res of the group too. Pretty much straight after dinner we headed up to bed. It's funny I would never dream of going to bed a 7:30/8pm at home but it's so draining with the heat and humidity.
