Atlanta - Day 2

Okay, so I didn't sleep a wink last night. I was full of a cold from the flight and had a headache but in my eyes that wouldn't go away. Anyway I got showered and dressed then got a taxt to midtown to myy next hotel. I couldn't check in until 4pm so I left my bag with the cloakroom person and searched for a cap and some sunscreen at a local store. I had a segway tour booked for 2pm and didn't want to burn as it is about 95 degrees in the shade (Queue Girls Aloud Song). I've only just been able to start catching up on my blog as my travel adapters are in my case.

Before I set off for the day I downloaded an app called Airalo that someone on Tiktok had recommended. You use it as a virtual sim card and add how much data you want on it and then switch your phone over in settings so you can stay connected without running up a huge bill on your existing contract. Easy to set up and can be used in any country. Now I have it I will be using this for all my trips. If you click the image or the link you'll get $3 off your sim courtesy of me. Yer Welcome! It's a better way to know how much you are spending. I go 10 GB for my trip and will let you know when it runs out.

Got myself an Atlanta Cap and some factor 30 and I was good to go! I initially started walking to Sephora to buy some skincare as I had googled places to buy Korean Skincare (since all mine is in my suitcase). It was lot further than I anticipated (over a mile). Which doesn't sound far until you factor in the heat and humidity, so I hired an electric scooter for the second part of the journey. They are all over the city just parked up on the 'Sidewalks' so you just download the app for the relevant company (there are lots). Bird and Lime seem to be the two main ones so you could always download a few apps before coming. Got my skincare then Scootered back to the hotel to drop off my stuff. Checked with reception, still no case :-(

Next I headed over to the meeting point for the Segway Tour which was the first thing on today's agenda. The Tour was 2.5 hours and our guide John was very informative and stopped regularly to give us some information about the area. It was just me and two friends Ashley & Jordan so it was easy to keep together everything he had to say. One of the stops was outside the Coca-Cola Museum which I have booked for tomorrow. It is literally on the same grounds as the Aquarium and also the Human Rights Museum. So if you are thinking of doing the three activities I would say you can easily do all 3 on the same day. The Coca-Cola Museum opens at 10am so maybe start with that one.

This short Video shows you were the three attractions are in proximity to each other....

You get a short 20 min stop as a cafe for refreshments bu I would recommend taking a water bottle with you as it gets really hot. There are pockets and a little bag on the front of the segway to store them. Byt the end of the trip I was happy to be done as I was still stressing about my suitcase. Checked back at hotel and still not arrived. By the time I got to my room it was 5pm and I felt gross as still wearing same clothes as yesterday so I messaged the trip for tonight (which included dinner in a hotel) asn explained I wouldn't be coming. There was no way I was going to dinner in shorts and T-shirt when it could be a posh hotel and feeling horrible. I will try and claim this back as part of my claim, we shall see. Wasn;t feeling hungry so just had some crisps and a drink for the petrol station.

Early start tomorrow.
