Ascot Ladies & One Gay Day

Updated: Jun 24, 2023

Didn't get up until 7:30am as I decided to have a lie-in since I was on a day off today. Fed Bella and took her for a walk as she will be on her own for a bit today. Started trying on pants to go with my shirt and jacket and OH MY GOD. I felt so FAT! Out of the 4 pair I tried on only 1 pair fit and even they were tight. I ended up having to wear a bloody wool waist cost to suck the belly in and a navy jacket over the top. It was so hot out but I daren't just wear a shirt so you can see how tight the pants were with the nice overhang. I really felt like just not going but I knew I would regret it afterwards.

I always do this, I forget to sort out my outfit ahead of time and then because I rarely wear trousers or anything smart, I struggle to find something to wear.

I seriously need to get back to doing more physical activity and eating less. I am going to start back doing my Yoga at the weekend as it's easier to commit to something that only requires coming downstairs. If I have to go to a gym or something I have too many excuses not to go.

Once we got in and sat down I could take my jacket off and unfasten my waistcoat so I could breathe out lol. I just had to remember to keep fastening it when ever I went to put the bets on for the table (I was nominated stable boy lol).

After the meal and afternoon tea I was completely stuffed and needed to go and feed Bella and let her out for a wee, so I decided to slope off. I did really want to see Laura Mac sing but I felt uncomfortably full and didn't think I would have a dance in me by the time I had gone home and come back. So I stayed home and looked after my baby instead :-)

That's another benefit of not drinking I could just jump in the car when I was ready to go home and didn't have to wait for taxi's or anything.
