We got up bright and early with S&M as they were going out for the day. Packed up our stuff and made our way back over to the car rental place to drop the car off. Thankfully there was no damage to the car (baring Sam’s near miss yesterday when she pulled into the lane of an oncoming car thinking she had right of way). So the woman rang through to the bank clearance thing and got them to cancel the hold they had put on $2000 when we took out the rental.
We got a taxi to the airport and then me and Sam said our goodbye’s as we were with different carriers so had to go to different parts of the airport. We had thought we’d bump into each other once we’d gone through check-in but I didn’t see her after that.
When I got to check in my bag was just over 23 kilos so I had to take out some heavy stuff and stick it in my hand baggage as you're not allowed one piece over 23kg. Stuffed my rucksack with a couple of pair o jeans and I was good to go.
Waited for my flight and avoided buying any unnecessary souvenirs that I neither needed nor had room for in my bag. The flight boarded on time and before I knew it I was landed in familiar territory again at about 3:30pm. I got the shuttle to the hostel and checked in. I was on the 3rd floor the same as the last two times so I knew my way around. Got to room 302 and I was in bed B and there was a Chinese guy in bed D.
There was a group of French students on my floor so it was quite busy with people milling around. I went to the local convenience store to get a sandwich and a couple of magazine to read and then nipped to the bottle shop for some Vino. Sydney is pretty expensive to drink out so I thought it would be better to get ready slowly and have some wine at the hostel. Got chatting to one of the French lads who was really nice and asking about my trip etc. I thought I coulda made a new buddy to go out with but he had to go on something organised with the group. Ce la vie !
Got myself ready and went out at about 10pm and things were just starting to get busy. Went up to Stonewall where they had Karaoke on, which is SO not my thing (hahahaha). Needless to say before I’d finished my first drink I was trawling the Karaoke book and sticking a slip in. I didn’t realise till I’d put it in but it was all done in heats and the crowd picked a winner from each heat. I hate that cos I just get up cos I like singing and when it’s a competition it then makes it look like you think your good. Anyway some guy had put in a slip for “Let me entertain you” but was a no show so the compare asked if someone would do it. Well being shy as I am I was on stage before he’d finished the sentence lol. Anyway it seemed to go down well and then after the next few people sang he announced that he didn’t need to get everyone on stage to know who the winner was and announced I’d won hahaha. Next thing I’m given an envelope with 10 free drinks vouchers in it. The vouchers said you could have wine/ beer/ spirit or champagne. CHAMPAGNE FOR EVERYONE!!! CALL ME BUBBLES DARLING EVERYBODY DOES ! hahahaha.
Met a guy called James who was with his sister, both from England and gave them a couple of vouchers each (see I’m not a drunk mother). Sang a duet with Jame (I got u babe) and then made my exit before they did the round with all the winners from each heat cos I hate all that stuff. Got to bed about 3:30am and didn’t wake Chinese guy (I don’t think lol).
