Well so much for an early night… We did go to sleep early and then at about 4am there was a banging on our door. I ignored it the first time but then it got louder so I got out of bed and opened the door. There was a an Ozzy lad stood there with blue streaks in his hair. He didn’t say anything so I said “did you want something?” and he said “well I didn’t want you to answer the door that’s for sure” so I said “fine” and shut the door. He tried knocking again but we just ignored him.
I couldn’t get back to sleep then and was awake most of the time until 7am when we were due to get up. While we were getting ready the Ozzy came back and knocked on but when I asked him what he wanted this time (in a joking fashion) he said “Sam”. It turns out that Sam had been chatting to his mate on the Thursday when we got back to our room drunk. We were laughing as he didn’t even remember he’d already knocked on earlier.
Got our stuff together and made our way to the bus stop up the road where we were being picked up for the boat trip over to 2 of the Whitsunday’s Islands. Unfortunately, the weather was pants and it was very grey sky and a fine misty rain. Once we got to the harbour I took my sea sick tablets (just in case) as I didn’t want to risk being ill. The sea was quite calm so I probably would have been okay but I didn’t want to risk it.
We started off outside on the top deck but the rain begin to come down quite heavy so everyone ended up inside. When we got to the first island “Long Island” it was still really miserable to I booked myself in at the spa for a massage for half and hour. We only had 2 hours at the island and by the time I’d waited for my slot and then had the massage it was time to leave.
Next we headed over to the 2nd island “Daydream Island” the weather had broke and it was blue sky all the way. We took a few pictures on the beach and then relaxed with a cocktail by the pool.
Managed to get a bit of colour and then it was time to head back to Airlie Beach. We just had time to get a quick shower and then go for a bite to eat down the main strip then Sam wanted to watch the football match (Man United v Liverpool) as she’s an avid Liverpool fan. Footy not being my thing I went for a stroll down the strip to some of the bars we’d been to previously and a dance or two.
Met up with Sam later and then we headed back to our room at about 2am. When we got back to our block the guys at the back of us were having a party and invited us back to there dorm. We went in for a bit but then left to get some shut eye ready for the continuation of the road trip tomorrow.
