What an absolutely brilliant day! Got the Crompton & Royton Gold Club for 11 am and just finished the last bit of setup. People started arriving around 12pm. Everyone at the event was really up for a good time. The day just flew by and before I knew what time it was it was time to start winding things down at midnight. Everyone made the effort to dress for the races and it was a great atmosphere. Even when anything went wrong with the TV or the setup, Andy just made light of it so people just laughed it off and nobody really got wound up. I think he even had to do the running commentary on the first race as it wasn't live on TV lol.
It was so good to be around lots of people again at an event. Before the whole pandemic thing, we probably would have taken things like this for granted. That's definitely one of the positives to come out of this whole shit show, is that you appreciate the small things again.
