Woke up several times in the night and took ages to get to sleep. The hotel is on quite a busy road so you can hear traffic during the night, although a 12 car pile-up would not have been able to drown out Eddie's snoring lol. I can't moan though cos I snore like a pig, I just usually try to get to sleep first.
Had a shower etc but skipped breakfast cos didn't know if they would want you to have eaten or not. Met our host in the hotel reception at 8:45, a young girl Called Emel (I'll never remember that so let's call her Emma). Lovely girl but not really the best meet and greeter for dental surgery when she has teeth that could eat an apple through a tennis racket :-/
Grabbed a taxi to the dental hospital, which took about 15 mins and once we arrived it was straight down to it. First stop and X-ray which was ready immediately on the TV in the operation room. Have to say I've seen badly a kept cemetery look in better condition than my mouth looked on the X-ray. I had gaps at the bottom left where I had a couple of teeth taken out as a.child, which had let the tooth further back do its own thing to try and fill the space. So one of them was almost growing horizontally. She had some concerns about 3 of my molars and said she would feel better if I had a root canal on all 3 of them, and I will also need a bridge to fill the space. Anyway, for all this extra it was only another £320 so I agreed to have that too. I'd rather do it now while I am having all this work done than need to have veneers taken off at a later date cos I need a bloody root canal. I guess it's kind of like wallpapering over cracked walls if you don't fix any underlying problems.
That agreed I sorted out payment in full for all the treatments so it was over with rather than doing each one at a time, total to pay £4900.
Oh they wanted me to have something to eat with me having anesthetic so made me a bagel with some feta cheese and olives. Who am I to refuse food :-)
Food and a brew polished off it was straight in the chair. They didn't use needles to numb yer gob instead they had this gadget that has some kind of spring loaded shot of numbing stuff in. She places the end on yer gum at then gives you a 3,2,1 countdown before this thing shoots it at the desired site. The only was I can describe it is if you had a collapsable trolley that shoots out and you help it against yer mouth when you pressed the button. Not mu favourite thing but better than a kick up the bum with a open toed sandal.
So I was sat in the chair for 7 hours all told. They did nip off now and then without any explanation and just left me sat there like piffy. Their English wasn't very good, so Emma had to translate for them. Most of my instructions from them were just one words, open, close, turn, rinse which even I could manage.
After they have drilled all my teeth down to little pegs they then put some tooth stuff into the first mould I had taken on my teeth, put that back in mi mouth and wait a couple of minutes, and then hey poncho I've got mi old teeth back as temporary veneers.
I thought I better just have a quick chat about the 'look' I wanted in case they usually do a one size fits all style. So I showed them a pic of Rylan (sorry I love you but this pic went yer best) and then another of some more natural ones. Anyway I need not worry cos she proceeded to whip out her phone and trump my pics with some cracking before and after pics. Ok, I get it love, this ain't your first rodeo :-)
Just before I left we went through the colour chart or the top 4 bleach white shades. She said as I am pale (WHAT?? sunbed when I get home) I could get away with whiter. So I thought in for a penny in for a pound and I've gone for A1 lol. Not Simon Cowel white just the brightest bleached white (I hope). If they are too white I can always tone em down with some cups of coffee).
Last thing before I left they gave me a pain killer. It better be bloody strong cos at the mo my mouth feels like Ive done 10 rounds with..(insert some famous boxers names cos Im clueless lol).
Went back to hotel and to the room. As soon as my mouth isn't numb and water doesn't dribble out of the opposite side of my mouth I want some food. It's 5:20pm so gonna have a little Nanna nap before I grab some dinner.
